# I have been confused about the interpretation of these four
# circular motion symbols for ages. The related definitions in
# the HamSymbols table always seem to have exhibited inconsistencies,
# and the HNS tutorial web page describing them
#
# http://www.sign-lang.uni-hamburg.de/projekte/hamnosys/hamnosyserklaerungen/englisch/21circlesymbols.html
#
# has changed at least once since the the early days of ViSiCAST.
#
# In particular the mapping now shown on that page between this group
# of four circular motion symbols and the corresponding directed
# motion arrows is the exact opposite of the one given on that page
# in the past -- i.e., whereas the final four circular motions are
# now shown as mapping to the directions < do uo ui di >, they used
# to be shown as mapping to the directions < ui di do uo >.
#
# Assuming the correctness of the mapping now shown on the tutorial
# web page, the current HamSymbols table contains the correct mapping
# between the HNS symbol names and the UCS character codes used in the
# HamNoSysUnicode font, but it contains a transposition error
# in the mapping from HNS symbol names to the 8-bit character codes
# used in the pre-UCS TrueType font.
#
# (I don't know whether or not this reflects a difference between the
# current 8-bit font and the classic Mac font).
#
# Specifically, in the standard HamSymbols file, the values 248 and
# 249 are transposed w.r.t. their positions below. The third and
# fourth entries below are unchanged from the standard file, and
# are included here only for information.
